DISCUSSION: The bucket truck purchase is on hold and will be brought back to the Commission at a future date. For 2013, Midway Ford was awarded the State Bid for Ford. Staff is also working to obtain quotes from the local Ford dealer, Cornerstone Auto Group. The dump truck was budgeted for$65,000. This includes the truck, dump bed, 800MHz radio, plow attachment, and other accessories. The state bid for a Ford F550 4x4 regular cab is $41,107.23. The pickup was budgeted for $35,000. This includes the truck, 800MHz radio, topper, and other accessories. The state bid for a Ford F250 4x4 SuperCab is $26,725.36. The SUV was budgeted for $35,000. This includes the truck, 800MHz radio, and other accessories. The state bid for a Ford Explorer 4WD is $27,181.54. The state bid for a Ford Edge AWD is $27,937.69. Both vehicles were considered, and of the two vehicles, the Explorer better fits the needs of the Utilities. ACTION REQUESTED: Staff will make a recommendation at the time of the Commission meeting to allow the local Ford dealer to submit a quote.
