Motion to approve completed solid waste collection licenses for 2013.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The city requires any company who collects commercial or residential waste in the City of Elk River
(including roll-off services) to obtain a license. The license application also requires proof of insurance.
Solid waste collection licenses expire annually on December 31. Fees associated with license renewal are
$60.00 for the company's first truck,and$15.00 for each additional truck. Seventeen haulers have applied
for licenses in 2013 for a total of 61 trucks and license fees collected of$1,650. Reminder letters were
sent to two haulers who missed the deadline. Staff expects to receive the information soon.
