Hiring of new officer

The lateral candidate for the position of police officer recently approved by the Council has
completed the background phase of the hiring process and is eligible to be hired.
I am requesting permission to start the employment of Christopher Morgan as a patrol
officer for the City of Elk River. His fzrst official date of employment would be December
22, 2003. He will start at the starting pay step per the patrol union contract and will be on
probation for the fzrst twelve months of his employment.
If approved, he would be sworn in at either the last council meeting this month or at a
different time and location by the Mayor.
