jjj REQUEST FOR ACTION River TO ITEM NUMBER City Council 9.2 AGENDA SECTION MEETING DATE PREPARED BY General Business February 19, 2013 Justin Femrite,P.E., City Engineer ITEM DESCRIPTION REVIEWED By Construction Project Update: TH 10 Mill and Overlay Suzanne Fischer, Community Spring/Summer 2013 Operations and Development Director REVIEWED BY Calvin Portner, City Administrator ACTION REQUESTED None BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION In 2013, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is planning a mill and overlay improvement to T.H. 10 between Jarvis Street and Norfolk Avenue in 2013. In addition to the overlaying of the existing surface, the project proposes a number of turn lane extensions and median crossover closures. The largest impact to the city street system, due to the proposed crossover closures,will occur at the intersection of TH 10 and 173`d Avenue. This project will require removing the crossover and reducing turning movements at the intersection to right-in, right-out. The two other crossover closures are proposed at private driveway locations. Staff will make a presentation of the proposed project and provide available information from MnDOT on the timeline for the work.
