ACTION REQUESTED
Approve by motion to accept the quote from Midwest Mechanical Solutions for$65,416.81 to rebuild the
Olympic Rink dehumidifier.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The dehumidifier for the Olympic rink was installed in 1998. Due to its age, some of the major
components in the system are worn to the point where they no longer operate,which impacts the quality
of the ice surface and decreases the efficiency of the ice-making plant.
The wet,warm air speeds the thaw of the ice which makes for a bad ice surface and creates the need for
the ice plant to work harder and longer to hold proper ice temperature,using more electricity.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
$64,000 was budgeted in the Arena's 2013 budget to rebuild the dehumidifier. Per state statute,we
sought and received two quotes,the lowest being from Midwest Mechanical Solutions for $65,416.81.

Notes:
Items 1 & 2 are direct OEM replacements to the original: Item 3 equal to originals
but of currect Fan Manufactures Design. Item 4 as noted.
All or part or the Labor maybe subcontracted out to local contractors, specific
to the scope of the related work overseen by Munter Representative.
Quote includes, labor to remove and install above materials, discarding of items
removed, receiving items to the jobsite. Normally delivery of quoted items is 4
weeks, work could be started in about 6-8 weeks.

AIR is pleased to offer this proposal to make the needed repairs on your munters unit. The following
will be performed:
• Duct and air unit cleaning
• Dessicant wheel replacement with new belt and seals
• Gear box and motor replacement for dessicant wheel
• New rollers, shafts and spacers for dessicant wheel
• New belts and Sheeves for blower wheel
• New 25 HP motor for supply fan
• 2 New Reznor furnaces
• Replace the direct fired makeup burner and pilot assembly
• Check operation and sequencing of controls
• Final inspection with Munters factory representative

Freight is not included or any other repairs and parts that may come up. Fence removal not included.
Parts will have warranty for one year from Munters for date of install.

All material is guaranteed to be as specified. All work to be completed in a workmanlike manner according to standard
practices. Any alteration or deviation from above specifications involving extra costs will become an extra charge over
and above the estimate. American Industrial Refrigeration will not be held liable for agreements contingent upon strikes,
accidents or delays beyond our control. Building owner will carry fire,property and other necessary insurance. Our
workers are covered by workmen's compensation insurance. American Industrial Refrigeration will not be responsible for,
nor will bid on this project, any work or cost of asbestos abatement. Building owner will provide safe work area with free
access to carry out above work. As part of this Proposal, if it is required by the Contract,American Industrial
Refrigeration will provide commercial general liability coverage for the scope of AIR'S work on the project to the fullest
extent of its current insurance coverage. American Industrial Refrigeration will not assume any insurance obligations
beyond that included in its current insurance policy. Upgrading of existing systems to meet the most current codes is
limited to scope of work detailed above. All work to be performed during normal workday(lam to 3:30 pm,M-F)on
straight time unless otherwise noted.Drain down and refilling of piping systems by others unless noted above. On all
accounts over 30 days, customer agrees to pay all reasonable collection fees and/or attorney fees.
Note: Proposal may be withdrawn by us if not accepted within 30 days.
