Appoint by motion Ryan Holmgren as the Parks and Recreation Commission representative to serve on
the Ice Arena Commission to fulfill Mr. Niziolek's unexpired term until February 28,2014.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
One of the seats on the Ice Arena Commission is for a representative from the Parks and Recreation
Commission.
Mike Niziolek had been the representative for several years and has requested to step down and allow
someone else to serve.
The newest Parks and Recreation Commissioner, Ryan Holmgren,has expressed interest to serve on the
Arena Commission. Ryan is the Varsity Baseball Coach for Elk River High School and has an interest in
youth sports.
The Parks and Recreation Commission discussed the appointment of Ryan Holmgren to the Ice Arena
Commission and unanimously recommended him at the March 13 meeting.
