CITY OF ELK RIVER
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
ADOPTING THE 2004 FEE SCHEDULE
The City Council of the City of Elk River does herebY ordain as follows:
Section 1. Pursuant to Minnesota Law, and the Elk River City Code, a fee
schedule for City services and licensing is hereby adopted.

The Code of the City of Elk River establishes that certain fees be set from
time to time by the Elk River City Council.
City staff has reviewed the current Master Fee Schedule for the City of Elk
River and is hereby recommending that the 2004 Master Fee Schedule,
hereto attached as Exhibit A, B, C, D and E be adopted.
Upon consideration and review of the Elk River City Council, the 2004
Master Fee Schedule, hereto attached as Exhibit A, B, C, D and E is hereby
adopted and becomes effective January 1, 2004.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published on Dec 2/4

FUEL-GAS PIPING PERMIT FEES
The Chief Building Inspector, before issuing any permit for the installation of any fuel-gas
piping, shall require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees in the amount
herein provided.
Minimum Fee
In no case shall the fee charged for any permit issued by the Chief Building Inspector be
less than Forty-five Dollars ($45.00).
Basle Fees
(A)
The fees for all fuel-gas piping permits shall be computed on the basis of the number of
fuel-gas appliances. The fee for each appliance so provided for shall, except as hereinafter
otherwise specifically provided, be Six Dollars ($6.00) for each fuel-gas appliance.
(B)
Where any such permit is issued for roughing-in of fuel-gas lines for future appliances, a
fee of Six Dollars ($6.00) shall be charged for each line or lines.
(c)
In addition to the Six Dollar ($6.00) charge for each fuel-gas appliance and future fuel-gas
lines run for appliance, a Six Dollar ($6.00) charge for the main fuel-gas supply in the
building shall be charged.
(D)
For the purpose of this article, a gas appliance shall be taken to mean a furnace, range,
water heater, dryer, fireplace, barbecue, etc.

PERMIT FEES
FEES REQUIRED
The Chief Building Inspector, before issuing any permit for the installation, alteration, or
repair of any heating, ventilation, and air conditioning appliance items, connections or
appendages, shall require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees in the
amount herein.
MINIMUM FEE
In no case shall the fee charged for any permit issued by the Chief Building Inspector be
less than fifteen dollars ($15.00).
PERMIT FEE FOR HEATING~ VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING
APPLIANCE ITEMS~ CONNECTIONS OR APPENDAGES
For any permit for the installation, alteration or repair of the above-referenced items, the
fee shall be one and one-half percent (1.5%) of the valuation of the work or as calculated
under the Uniform Mechanical Code, whichever is greater.

ADOPTING THE 2004 FEE SCHEDULE
The City of Elk River does ordain:
On December 15, 2003, the Elk River City Council adopted Ordinance 03-18
adopting the 2004 fee schedule. This Master Fee Schedule, referred to as Exhibit A, B, C,
D, and E has made slight increases, decreases, and elimination of some of the City services
and licensing fees. To be increased: assessment search certification; park dedication fee of
residential and commercial sites; permits for septic installation and repair; plumbing permits,
and sewer availability charge. To be decreased: fireworks sales permit or renewal. Charges
to be eliminated: cost for Community Profile; copying; permit to car~T handgun; marketing
brochure; and r,4Lroad parking lot sticker. New charge: reproduction of CD or DVD.
A printed copy of the full text of the Ordinance and Master Fee Schedule, referred
to as Exhibit A, B, C, D, and E in Ordinance 03-18, is available for public inspection at the
office of the Elk River City Clerk, 13065 Orono Parlcfcay, during regular business hours -
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This summary, of Ordinance #03- 18has been approved by the City Council, by at
least four-fifths vote, on December 15, 2003. Ordinance 03- 18 shall become effective
beginning January 1, 2004.
