1. Adopt by motion an ordinance amendment to eliminate the City Council meeting scheduled on
the second Monday of each month.
2. Adopt by motion a resolution regarding the start time of City Council meetings.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the April 8, 2013, meeting, Council consensus was to adjust the following in regard to the City Council
meeting schedule:
1. Eliminate the second regular City Council meeting of each month.
2. Change the City Council meeting start time for the third meeting of each month to 6:00 p.m., or
immediately following the Economic Development Authority meeting,whichever is later.
An ordinance amendment is required to change the meeting schedule. Per the ordinance, a resolution is
required to change the start time of meetings.

CITY OF ELK RIVER
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER AMENDING
SECTION 2-52, REGULAR MEETINGS, OF THE ELK RIVER,
MINNESOTA, CITY CODE
The City Council of the City of Elk River does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. Section 2-52 titled, Regular Meetings, of the City of Elk River Code of
Ordinances shall be amended to read as follows:
Regular meetings of the council shall be held on the first—, ,eeofid, and third Mondays of
each calendar month at such time of day as the city council shall establish by resolution.
Any regular meeting falling upon a holiday shall be held on the next following business day
at the same time and place.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption and be published as
provided by law.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 6`h day of
May, 2013.

RESOLUTION 13-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER AMENDING AND
AFFIRMING THE TIME FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 2-52 of the Elk River City Code, the time of City
Council meetings shall be set by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City-Council history for modifying the time of City Council meetings has
been adopted in Resolution 08-34 and Resolution 10-13; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems the following for meeting start times:
1. The City Council meeting held on the first Monday of each month shall
be set to start at 6:30 p.m.
2. The City Council meeting held on the third Monday of each month shall
be set to start at 6:00 p.m., or immediately following the Economic
Development Authority meeting,whichever is later.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River,Minnesota, that the start time for City Council meetings as noted in this resolution
shall be effective immediately.
