BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In the past, the HRA has indicated strong interest in being more proactive in housing programs. These
programs are varied, and can be drafted to accomplish specific goals of the HRA. Staff has identified the
following needs: 1st time buyer's assistance, affordable housing, and blight assistance.
Staff has been conducting preliminary research in order to identify any special programs other cities may
have to offer;HRA direction may help focus the search.
It is envisioned that full development of a housing program will take months, and will be assisted in great
detail by the proposed housing intern.
