SUBJECT: Meeting Reminder & Staff Updates— May 15, 2013
This is to remind you of our upcoming meeting on Wednesday,May 15,2013 at 8:30 a.m.in the
Uppertown Conference Room at the Elk River City Hall. There will be three presentations from the local
utility representatives,Tom Sagstetter, ERMU;Bruce Sayler,Connexus;and Ryan Setterholm, Centerpoint
Energy. The agenda,April minutes and subcommittee minutes and information is attached.

COMMISSION SUBCOMMITTEE MEMBERS
Education—Commissioners Setterholm,Steinbeck, and Zehringer, Staff Haug and Wilfarht
Energy Design—Commissioners Chuba and Sagstetter, Staff Haug
Demonstration Criteria—Commissioners Hagen and Rybak, Staff Haug
Visionary—Chair Setala,Commissioners Sayler,Rohlf and Westgaard,Staff Haug
COMMISSION SUBCOMMITTEES
Education—The Education Subcommittee met on May 7,2013. The Subcommittee discussed partnering
with the EDA during Manufacturer's Week in October.The students could tour Metal Craft and Faribault
Foods and learn about the energy efficiency improvements the businesses have made. The subcommittee
also discussed having videos of the various demonstrations and then send the video to the schools to create
more awareness about Energy City. The subcommittee also discussed the upcoming tours and survey that is
given out. The surveys will be used to improve the tours and as a means to track the number of tours and
participants.
Energy Design—The Energy Design Subcommittee did not meet this month. The flier is still being
developed.
Demonstration Criteria—The Demonstration Criteria Subcommittee met after the last ECC meeting. The
subcommittee reviewed the forms. The city's communication person will be reviewing the forms.

Visionary—The Visionary Subcommittee is scheduled to meet on May 10,2013. An update will be given
during the meeting.
FUTURE MEETING TOPICS
June 19,2013,Commissioner Rybak will present on the energy efficient improvements in the school district
buildings. Please bring to the meeting any other topics for future meetings.
