ENERGY CITY EDUCATION SUBCOMMITTEE

1. Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Energy City Education
Subcommittee was called to order at 3:03 p.m.
2. Consider Agenda
No changes were made to the agenda.
3. Marketing Material Ideas
A flier is being developed for the area churches and videos of the demonstrations will be •
developed for distribution to the schools.Information has been developed for businesses.
4. School Opportunities
Staff Wilfarht discussed the opportunity of having students tour Metal Craft and Faribault
Foods during Manufacturer's Week to learn about the energy efficiency improvements these
businesses have made. The subcommittee discussed having videos made at the various
demonstrations and put into a DVD for distribution to the schools to create more
awareness.
5. Hockey Day MN 2014
Commissioner Setterholm thinks a Natural Gas car can be used at the event and
Commissioner Steinbeck thinks an Electric car can be made available during the event.
6. Tour Promotion
There are a few Energy City tours scheduled for the month of May and the subcommittee
reviewed the survey that is given out.
7. Other
Nothing was added.

1. Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Energy City
Demonstration Criteria Subcommittee was called to order at 10:45 a.m.
2. Consider Agenda
No changes were made to the agenda.
3. Demonstration Project Site Form
Discussion revolved around continuing to review the forms.
4. Schedule Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held Wednesday,May 15,2013 at the Elk River City Hall in the
Upper Town Conference Room at 10:30 a.m. or as soon as the regular ECC meeting is over.
5. Adjournment
There being no further business,the meeting of the Elk River Energy City Demonstration
Criteria Subcommittee adjourned at 11:29 a.m.

ENERGY CITY VISIONARY SUBCOMMITTEE
HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL
FRIDAY,April 12, 2013
Members Present: Commissioners John Setala,Bruce Sayler and Matt Westgaard
Members Absent: Commissioner Steve Rohlf

1. Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Ella River Energy City Visionary
Subcommittee was called to order at 8:33 a.m.
2. Consider Agenda
No changes were made to the agenda.
3. Strategic Planning
Discussion took place regarding forming partnerships with area colleges and universities.
The subcommittee reviewed Vancouver's "Greenest City Action Plan". The subcommittee
broke up the plan into sections and agreed to create one page summaries of their sections.
The sections were assigned as follows:
• Councilmember Westgaard—2&6
• Commissioner Setala—7&10
• Commissioner Sayler—4&8
• Commissioner Rohlf—3&9
• Staff Haug—1 &5
•
The information will be used to determine if the goals can be applied to Elk River.
4. Schedule Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held on the second Friday of every month with the next meeting
scheduled for Friday,May 10,2013 at the Elk River City Hall in the Upper Town
Conference Room at 8:30 a.m.
5. Adjournment
There being no further business,the meeting of the Elk River Energy City Visionary
Subcommittee adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
