ACTION REQUESTED
Approve by motion the hiring of Jessica Converse as recreation coordinator effective June 6, 2013.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The city received more than 100 applications for this position. Following phone interviews and two
rounds of in-person interviews, staff recommends Jessica Converse for this position.
Ms. Converse has a 4-yr. degree in Recreation and Sports Management and has been working in a
temporary position as a recreation coordinator for the City of Plymouth since 2010. She is also the
program coordinator for the Loretto Community Athletic Association and has been there since 2006.
Ms. Converse will work a couple of part-time days on June 6 and 10 to familiarize herself with the city
and fellow employees and introduce herself to her seasonal staff. Her first full-time day will be June 17,
2013. Ms. Converse's starting pay will be at step A of pay grade 6. Benefits and pay increases will be
consistent with city policy.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This is a budgeted position.
