Annual Conference
Overview
Each year the Council for Urban Economic Development (CUED) holds a
national conference. The conference planned in San Diego offers a wide
variety of topics related to economic development issues:
· work force development
· business attraction and retention
· finance
· retail and office development
· export growth and foreign investment attraction.
The 1998 Economic Development Budget, as adopted by the City Council,
programmed expenses related to attendance at a national conference.
Action Requested
Staff is requesting that the City Council approve sending the Director of
Economic Development to the CUED 1998 Annual Conference in San Diego.
