Authorizing the Use of a Safety Deposit Box at the First
National Bank

Since the City has the need to use a safety deposit box for the safe keeping of records, we
currently have a safety deposit box at the First National Bank of Elk River. As part of our
records disaster plan we keep a duplicate copy of permanent records that are on microfiche
in this safety deposit box. The bank requires that the City adopt a resolution authorizing the
use of a safety deposit box and listing those who have authority for this use.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Council makes a motion adopting the attached resolution authorizing the use of a safety
deposit box at the First National Bank and giving staff authority for this use.

RESOLUTION 04-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE
OF A SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX
WHEREAS,
the City Council of the City of Elk River recognizes the need for the use of a
safety deposit box; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elk River authorizes the rental of a safety
deposit box at the First National Bank of Elk River.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Elk River gives
authority to the City Administrator, Finance Director, and City Clerk for this use.
Passed and adopted this 12th day of January 2004.
