Approve by motion up to $5,000 in City of Elk River in-kind services and program related expenses for
the Independence Day Celebration event.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Independence Day Committee sponsors an Independence Day Celebration event each year at Lion's
Park.
This is a formal request from the Elk River Fireworks Committee for City of Elk River financial support.
The past few years, the city has approved up to $5,000 for in-kind services for police, fire crew and
reimbursement for program related expenses. The expense has not been budgeted and historically, costs
were covered by Council Contingency.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Up to $5,000 from the Council Contingency budget line item,which was budgeted at$50,000 for 2013
and currently has approximately$38,500 remaining.
