BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Public Works and Parks Maintenance services are integral parts of our community and the support
of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital to their efficient operation. Their work and programs
directly impact the health, safety, and comfort of this community but their success is dependent upon the
efforts and skills of public officials and the dedicated personnel who staff the departments.
July 31, 2013, has been selected as a day to recognize the value and benefits of the Public Works and
Parks Departments. In addition to showing appreciation for their efforts it is also appropriate to
celebrate the new maintenance facility with an Open House.
This event is an opportunity for residents to reflect on the value they receive for their investments in
Public Works and Parks through the daily maintenance and physical infrastructure necessary to support
their daily needs as well the numerous services and programs provided.
