SUBJECT: Grading of 217th Avenue
217th Avenue is a dead-end sand road that goes east from County Road 1.
Staffhas wanted to do an upgrade of this road for a long time, but until the
city acquired the fight-of-way from the Rivers of Life Church, any
improvement was impossible.
I am waiting for a contractors quote so that I can give the Council comparison
bids on the project and have been assured that I will have the numbers to
give as a handout at Monday's meeting.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the reconstruction of 217th
Avenue with work being done by the contractor with the lowest quotation.
The city street department will help with clearing the trees and provide the
Class 5 gravel surface. The recommended funding source is from street
reserves.
