1. Mayor Dietz to accept a$5,000 donation from representatives of GRE: Tim Stembeck,Terry
Sederholm, and Dan Becchetti.
2. Adopt by resolution the acceptance of a$5,000 donation from Great River Energy for the
purpose of purchasing a child identification kit for the Police Department.
Background/Discussion
The Police Department is currently using a similar system which is more than 10 years old and antiquated.
The new EZ Child ID kit will greatly enhance the department's goal of identifying children through
fingerprints, audio, and video. This data can be used in the case of a child becomes "missing" and
enhance location efforts.
Financial Impact
City is receiving a$5,000 cash donation towards the purchase of the EZ Child ID kit. This donation will
completely fund this kit.

A Resolution of the City of Elk River Acknowledging Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a$5,000 donation from Great River Energy
with the intent it be used by the Elk River Police Department for the purchase of an EZ
Child ID kit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River
to acknowledge the support and commend Great River Energy for their donation.
Passed and adopted this 51h day of August, 2013.
