Subject: 600 Amp Switchgear Purchase
The 2004 electric budget contains a number of underground electric projects that require
600 amp padmount switchgear units. Attached is a brochure showing this piece of
equipment. Instead of purchasing them as we need them, we are purchasing this years
requirements of ten units in hopes of getting a better price. These units typically cost
approximately $8,000 each.
Bids will be received on March 4, 2004 and a bid tabulation with staff recommendations
will be presented at our meeting.
