MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER
ENERGY CITY EDUCATION SUBCOMMITTEE
HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL
TUESDAY,SEPTEMBER 3, 2013
Members Present: Commissioner Tim Steinbeck and Commissioner Ryan Setterholm

1. Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Energy City Education
Subcommittee was called to order at 3:03 p.m.
2. Consider Agenda
No changes were made to the agenda.
3. Marketing Material Ideas
Video Update—Videos are ready to be put on the website. Descriptions need to be created for each
one and new ones may need to be created.
Website Update—Each commissioner needs to provide the City with a brief description of 50 words
or less of their business and role with the Energy City Commission by September 13,2013.
Letter to Schools—A letter was drafted and reviewed and will be sent out to all of the local schools
informing them of opportunities to work with the ECC.
Spectrum Opportunity—Staff Haug will be presenting to students at Spectrum School on
Wednesday,September 11,2013. The students are working on projects to make their school more
sustainable. The Subcommittee discussed having the students conduct a poll of their peers. The poll
could include the number of CFL or LED light bulbs in their home,whether or not they have a
programmable thermostat,if they recycle,etc. The DOE website has a lot of information.
4. Other
The fliers for the churches,small businesses and non-profits are still being created.
5. Adjournment
There being no further business,the meeting of the Elk River Energy City Education Subcommittee
adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
