Planning Commission Transportation Priorities

Summary
Planning/Jurisdictional Issues
• Prepare official corridor maps for long-term transportation solutions
• Preserve right of way along TH 169 prior to MN DoT completing its studies
• Cooperate with MN DoT in its study work
• Resolve jurisdictional issues by encouraging turnback of County Roads in the urban
core
Specific Corridor Improvements
• Convert Tyler Street and Proctor Avenue as major north-south collectors to 221"
Avenue
• Connect CSAH 13 to TH 10 via Cleveland/Fillmore/Jarvis
• Extend School Street, 193d and 1976 Avenues to Tyler Street and eventually to Twin
Lakes Road
• Create "ring roads" to move traffic on local roads away from the congestion at TH
169's intersections
• Extend School Street west to Meadowvale Road through Cretex
• Eliminate and "clean up" the transportation corridors between Jackson and Gates
Avenues north of Highway 10
Miscellaneous Improvements
• Build the interchange at TH 169 and Main Street
• Build a median on CR 12 crossing Zane Street and Line Avenue to allow only east-
west movements and push the full movement intersection with signal to CR12/Twin
Lakes Road
