I need City Council feedback on the public notice process for the July 8 Highway Corridor discussions. Jeff Gongoll has indicated that the Highway 10 and Highway 169 meeting would be published in the Chamber newsletter that comes out the first week of July. Hopefully we can also get an article in the Elk tO'per StarNews regarding the MnDot presentations. Finally, the city plans to promote the MnDot presentations on Cable TV. This will happen by way of the bulletin board notice and hopefully the meeting will be discussed on the "McPherson Report" (planning of course) and the "I~linzing's Thoughts" show. The question for the City Council is whether or not to mail out any individual notices of the meeting to business owners. The Chamber of Commerce has offered its membership mailing list (about 330 members). This mass ma'fling would make contact with a majority of the businesses along both Highway 10 and Highway 169. This mailing would also go to many chamber members who are not necessarily interested in this Highway Corridor presentation. Information and notification will be given directly to the Rivers Edge group for distribution to their membership. Please see the attached letter from the City Engineer to MnDot and the project consulting firms for the tentative meeting schedule. I would like to confirm that Councilmembers are available for the August 12 budget worksession. If we are missing a member or two it may be appropriate to reschedule this xvorksession. s: \council\ sumrnerccschedule.doc Howard R, Green Qompany May 16, 2002 File: 809230J-0325 809235J-0325 Mr. Doug Abere CH2M HILL 1380 Corporate Center Curve, Suite 200 Eagan, MN 55121 Howard Preston Howard R.
