Subject: Director's Report
This report is a monthly highlight of our Department's activities informing the Commission
on items related to collaborations, strategic planning, staff changes/ development, and park
operations.
I will be out of the office during the week of October 7 attending the annual NRPA national
conference in Houston, Texas. Recreation Manager Steve Benoit will report at the
Commission meeting in my absence.
Parks and Recreation Master Plan
The RFP for the Parks and Recreation Master Plan has been completed and is due by
Monday, October 21. So far, seven firms have expressed interest. The RFP was sent to
Commission members last week. It is available on the city website.
Windsor 3rd Edition Private Donation
The Windsor Park 3rd Addition Home Owners Association presented at the September 11
Commission meeting a proposal to donate their park to the city. Staff continues to work on
calculating costs to transfer ownership and maintenance of the park. We hope to have
recommendation for the Commission at the November meeting.
Eagle Scout Projects
We plan to have a report on the completed Scout projects this year at the November 13
Commission meeting.
