1. Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Energy City
Commission was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Chair Setala.
2. Consider December 19,2012 Energy City Commission Agenda
MOVED BY COMMISSIONER WESTGAARD AND SECONDED BY
COMMISSIONER ZEHRINGER TO APPROVE THE AGENDA.

4. General Business
4.1 Subcommittee Updates
• Education Subcommittee
o Commissioner Zehringer updated the commission on what the Education
Subcommittee discussed during their December 5,2012 meeting.
• Energy Design Subcommittee
o Mr. Sagstetter updated the commission on what the Energy Design
Subcommittee discussed during their December 6,2012 meeting.
• Demonstration Subcommittee
o Ms. Haug updated the commission on what the Demonstration Criteria
Subcommittee discussed during their December 10,2012 meeting.
4.2 Tiny Solar House Promotion Discussion
Ms. Haug informed the Commission about Salk Middle School's request to have the Tiny
Solar House brought to their school February 19—March 1 in conjunction with National
Engineer's Week. Staff has been communicating with Laura Cina,MRES on coordinating
the move of the house to Salk Middle School.

Staff has also been contacted by Elk River High School to have the Tiny Solar House
III
brought to them. Staff is still working on the details of when it will be brought to the High
School.
4.3 Science Fair Judging
Staff was asked by Salk Middle School to help them fmd judges for their Science Fair. The
fair is scheduled for January 7— 10 from 8:30—3:00 p.m. They are in need of about 60
judges from the community and the judges do not have to have a science background.
5. Other
Chair Setala thanked Rachel King for all her work with the Energy City Commission. Ms.
Haug invited the ECC to the going away party for Rachel on December 27 from 3:30—4:30
p.m. at City Hall
6. Schedule Next ECC Meeting and Identify Agenda Items
The next meeting will be held January 16,2013 at the Elk River City Hall in the Upper Town
Conference Room at 8:30 a.m. Items for the agenda include:
• Approval of the December 19,2012 Minutes
• Subcommittee Updates
• Presentation
7. Adjournment
There being no further business,Chair Setterholm adjourned the meeting of the Elk River III
Energy City Commission at 9:42 a.m.
