Re: 2003 Write-offs
Attached is the list of 2003 Write-Offs, totaling $21,792.54. Customer Service was
aggressive in cleaning up the Aged Accounts Receivable this year. Approximately
$5,087.98 was from the year 2002. Collections has recovered $2,170.19 to date. There is
_ also an amount of$3,794.64, which has been awarded in our favor in Small Claims
Court. Ryan Westre has proceeded with the collection of that amount, and the District
Court has ordered payment.
Since we have eliminated the meter deposit policy, we have very carefully been
monitoring the past due amounts. The amount written off appears to be reasonable, given
revenue amounts, approximately less than one half of one percent.
The Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission should approve the list for 2003. Thank
