A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION ENTERING INTO A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN
WRIGHT COUNTY AND THE CITY OF ELK RIMER
FOR BRIDGE #86515
this agreement made and entered into by and between the City of Elk River
hereinafter referred to as the "City" and the County of Wright hereinafter referred
to as the "County."
it is deemed to be the interest of all parties that the duties and responsibilities of
both the City and the County as to maintenance on Bridge #86515 and its
approaches should be clearly defined.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED w/th regard to said structure maintenance;
CITY MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance of streetlights
Removal of snow from sidewalk
Maintenance of slopes/berms and roadway on north approach (includes: turf
maintenance, bituminous maintenance, drainage, and riprap maintenance)
Periodic sweeping to remove sand and debris and removing sand/dirt from
expansion joints
Removal of markings/spray paint etc. from visible surfaces of bridge structure
COUNTY MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Snow and ice control from bridge and approaches
(2) Signing for bridge and approaches
(3) Maintenance of slopes/berms, and roadway on south approach (includes: turf
maintenance, bituminous maintenance, drainage, and riprap maintenance)
(4) Centerline and edge pavement marking (includes stop bar)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the agreement between the City and County shall
be for a one-year period and run from January 1, 2002, to December 31, 2002. All maintenance
responsibilities will be deemed "offsetting" therefore no payments will be required for the individual
maintenance work, which conforms to the areas stated herein and performed under authorization of
either the City or County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, in the event that the structure needs major
maintenance/rehabilitation an agreement detailing the work and shared costs must be approved and
accepted by the City and County.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 8th day of July, 2002.
