Youth Month Proclamation
Community Recreation Director Jeff Asfahl will be in attendance at this
meeting to request the City Council to proclaim October as Youth Month. As
the city is on cable TV it is appropriate that this proclamation not only be
approved but also read into the record. The Community Recreation Board is
recommending that this proclamation be approved and, as Councilmember
Holmgren is the chair of this board, it may be appropriate for him to read the
proclamation.

Proclamation
A proclamation of the Elk River City Council
Proclaiming October 1998 as "Youth Month"
WHEREAS,
the City Council recognizes that all youth are significant
members of our communities and beheve that they are the
leaders of tomorrow; and,
WHEREAS,
the City Council is committed to work to ensure that the
hves of youth are positively enhanced; and,
WHEREAS,
the City Council recognizes and encourages countless other
community programs and organizations that are also
committed to serving youth; and,
WHEREAS,
these numerous organizations and community programs
together are working to strengthen the hves of youth and
strengthen our communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Elk River City Council
does hereby proclaim October 1998 "Youth Month" and that we further
encourage all communities and organizations to share in their commitment
to youth by proclaiming October as Youth Month.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 21st day
of September, 1998.
