Dear Mr. Mesich,
Having had the opportunity to attend many APA national conferences during my tenure
as a planning commissioner, I can attest to the great value of not only the training
provided, but the sharing of experiences, ideas, and solutions among commissioners
from all over the country. I am writing to express the appreciation of the American
Planning Association on your community's decision to enable your planning
commission to attend the 1998 APA National Conference. The participation of your
commission helped to provide a wider variety of information, experiences, and
viewpoints, and enriched the field of planning as a whole.
Over 400 commissioners from 43 states and 2 foreign countries attended this year's
National Conference, offering an unprecedented degree of diversity among this group.
In the written evaluations attendees returned, we found that planning commissioners
and board members had the highest rate of satisfaction of any group attending the
Conference.
We hope that your commission members found it enriching and informative, and that
the important information gained is shared with your elected body. We look forward to
seeing your commission at the National Conference in Seattle next year.
