Action Requested
Adopt by motion a resolution acknowledging the $1,500 in contributions from the Zimmerman Fire
Relief Association.
Background/Discussion
The Parks and Recreation Department received a $500 donation from the Zimmerman Fire Relief
Association with the intent that it be used towards park improvements.
The Fire Department also received a $1,000 donation from the Zimmerman Fire Relief Association with
the intent it be used to purchase firefighting and rescue equipment.
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 465.03, to accept donations, a resolution must be adopted by a 2/3
majority vote.
Financial Impact
The Zimmerman Fire Relief Association donated a total of$1,500 to the City of Elk River.

A Resolution of the City of Elk River Acknowledging Contributions from the
Zimmerman Fire Relief Association
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a$500 donation from the Zimmerman Fire
Relief Association with the intent it be used by the Parks and Recreation Department
towards the park improvement fund; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a$1,000 donation from the Zimmerman Fire
Relief Association with the intent it be used by the Fire Department to purchase firefighting
and rescue equipment; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City=of Elk
River,Minnesota, to acknowledge the support and commend the Zimmerman Fire Relief
Association for their donation.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 18`h day of November
2013.
