I would request that the City Council approve the attached resolution to be
included with the DNR trail grant documents for the bituminous paving of
the 2.85 mile section of the railroad trail.

RESOLUTION 98-
A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE
1998 LCMR COOPERATIVE TRAIL GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS,
the City of Elk River pledges fifty percent (50%) of the
proposed 2.85 mile railroad trail paving project for the
proposed LCMR Cooperative Trail Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, the total cost of the project is $98,000; and,
WHEREAS,
the City of Elk River will be the sponsoring unit of
government for said project; and,
WHEREAS,
the City appoints Assistant City Administrator Lori Johnson
as the financial director for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City pledges a spirit of
cooperation to the proposed project in the amount of $49,000.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the 'City of Elk River this 19tl~ day
of October, 1998.
