The City Council is asked to call a special meeting for Monday, November 30,
1998, in order to discuss and prepare for the December 3 assessment public
hearing on the East Elk River project.

Proclamation
A proclamation of the Elk River City Council
Proclaiming November 15-21, 1998 as
"American Education Week"
WHEREAS,
the schools represent a major investment by any
community; and
WHEREAS,
teachers are a most important part of our community's
leadership; and
WHEREAS,
schools represent the best possible avenue of improving
the quahty of life in our country; and
WHEREAS,
there is a need for better communication and a more
cooperative relationship between professional educators
and the community; and
WHEREAS,
since 1921, the American Legion Auxiliary and other
professional groups have promoted visiting schools and
other activities annually during American Education
Week.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Elk River City Council
does hereby proclaim November 15-21, 1998, to be "American Education
Week" and do urge all citizens to reaffirm their commitment to improving
and supporting education at all levels; and translate this commitment into
action by visiting our local schools.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 9th day of
November, 1998.
