The Recreation Division provides Rink Attendant staff for two of Elk River's outdoor rinks in order to offer the public access to warming houses and for general supervision. The two supervised rinks are located at Lions Park and Handke Pit. Outdoor ice rinks typically open in late December as the weather allows. Staff is in the process of reviewing the City-Wide Volunteer program. The Volunteer Coordinator will unfortunately not be available to work on the program for the next several months. Staff will be reviewing options to continue moving the program forward during this time. Lunch was free to Veterans, and guests paid $2. The maximum registration count of 50 for this event was reached. Many thanks were received for holding this lunch at the Center. • Taylor Marie fashion show was held at the Activity Center on Thursday,Nov 14th. Activity Center participants volunteered to model for the show.All attendees enjoyed this fun event. • New meditation classes began in November. Many new participants are attending. • Aging and dementia presentation on Nov 15th had a packed audience. • November trips included the Holiday Party at St Croix, Gilded Mansion Tour and Hudson Holiday Homes tour.
