SUBJECT: Major Park Use — Love Elk River
Request
Vance Zehringer and Stephanie Klinzing have submitted a request to hold an ice cream
social at Lions Park on September 14th from 1lam-3pm. They expect approximately 400
people coming and going during this event. They have requested the Bandshell,the main
shelter and the Lions Park Center meeting room.
Information for your consideration
• This is a resident non-profit group.
• The Recreation Department has no history with this group/event.
• Central Lutheran Church has a large event this day as well,making parking limited.
• Fees for use of the facilities are $75 for building supervision, $20 for the Bandshell,
$20 for the attached shelter and$50 for the Lions Park Center meeting room. The
deposit is $500 for groups over 100 people for Lions Park Center.
Staff Recommendations
• The group must coordinate parking to ensure that parking only occurs where
allowed and the traffic flows through the parking lot and on Lions Park Drive.
• No fee/deposits be charged outside of the fees listed above for the use of the
facilities. Fees and deposits listed above are due 14 days prior to the event.
