SUBJECT: Elk River 20 Mile Race
Ms.Mary Anderson will be in attendance at the January 9th meeting to review a request for
the use of Lions Park,several city streets,and Woodland Trails Park for what has now been
named the Elk River 20-Mile Race. This race was previously known as the Leukemia race
and had been organized by Tom Gilgenbach.
Ms. Anderson has received the City's facility use application and will be in attendance to
discuss any issues the Commission may have regarding this event.

Dear Ms. Anderson:
Enclosed please find the City of Elk River's Park Shelter and Park Facility Use Application.
You will need to complete the application in order to reserve space at the necessary facilities
for the Elk River 20 Mile Race, which you propose to hold in May.
Prior to receiving the official reservation,the Park and Recreation Commission will review
your request. At this time you are scheduled to appear before the Commission on
Wednesday,January 9, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please
contact me at your earliest convenience at (763) 441-4902. To assist you in completing the
application and determining which facilities you may be utilizing,I have included the City's
Park and Trail Map. I look forward to working with you on this race.
