Accept,by motion,the quote from Sam's Lawn Care Inc. for Twin Lakes Road landscaping
improvements at a cost not to exceed $30,625.50.
Background/Discussion
On October 7, 2014, the City Council authorized staff to obtain quotes to complete the landscaping work
within the median of Twin Lakes Road, south of County Road 12. The project includes the planting of 81
shade and ornamental trees. Areas disturbed by planting will be mulched or sodded. Staff posted a
request for proposal on the city website and forwarded the plans to a number of qualified contractors in
January.
Four quotes were received, ranging in price from $30,625.50 to $65,705. Preliminary estimates for the
project came in between $29,975 and $36,963.
With acceptance of the proposal by Sam's Lawn Care Inc., staff will move forward with the project,and
installation will be completed no later than June 15,2014.
Financial Impact
The Capital Improvement Plan includes $60,000 for landscaping/boulevard improvements in 2014.
