SUBJECT: Consideration of Ice Arena Commission Appointments
There are three open seats on the Ice Arena Commission with terms expiring 2/28/04.
They are as follows:
· School District Representative currently held by Dave Halgren
· Park and Recreation Commission Representative currently held by Arthur Jackett
· City Council Representative currently held by Councilmember Dan Tveite.
John Barth, Activities Director at Elk River High School, is recommending the
reappointment of Dave Halgren to the Ice Arena Commission as the School District
Representative. Mr. Halgren would like to be reappointed. This is for a term to expire
2/28/07.
The Park and Recreation Commission will conduct their yearly business meeting in March
and will be making a recommendation to the City Council after that meeting for their
representative on the Ice Arena Commission.
The City Council will need to decide who they would like as their representative on the Ice
Arena Commission with a term to expire 2/2/8/07.
ACTION REQUESTED
Three openings with the following options:
-Reappoint Dave Halgren as the School District Representative to the Ice Arena
Commission for a three-year term ending on February 28, 2007.
-Reappoint Dave Tveite as the City Council Representative to the Ice Arena Commission for
a three-year term ending on February 28, 2007.
(Appoint a member from the Park and Recreation Commission after receiving their
recommendation.)
