Financial Impact N/A Attachments ■ 2013 Annual Report p 0 W I R I I a ATURE Elk River Public Library City Annual Report 2013 Report Period : January - December 2013 Report Date : Monday, March 17, 2014 Statistics CIRCULATION : Physical Collection : Elk River Total : 333,199 items checked out Print ( books, magazines, etc. ) : 231,291 checkouts Media ( DVDs, CDs, ... ) : 101,908 checkouts Change : % total decrease from 2012 Digital Collection : Region-Wide Total ( e-books, downloadable audiobooks ) : 111 ,257 checkouts Change : % increase from 2012 People don't come to the library just to borrow materials, though. They also use our computers, wi-fi, study rooms, meeting room, and attend programs. Elk River had a % increase from 2012 in wireless connections per open day. And our library programs, all of which are free and open to the public, had higher attendance in 2013. PROGRAMS : Elk River Attendance : 3,243 people ( % increase from 2012 ) Programs : 118 ( more than in 2012 ) Year in Review : Building / Maintenance Heat pump replaced at a cost of about $24,000. This was the first major repair necessary since the library moved to its current building in 2007. Other News : Four Staff Changes Library Aide Susan Watts was promoted to Lib. Srvc. Coordinator of the Cold Spring / Richmond branches of GRRL. Substitute Library Assistants Lisa Padden and Mick Stoffers resigned to pursue other opportunities. Mike Rishavy retired, but returns here soon as a Substitute Library Aide.
