Discussion of request to hold a Community Vacation Bible School at Lions Park.
Approval by motion of Community Bible School to be held at Lions Park from Sunday,July 13 to
Thursday,July 17 with the following provisions:
• Damage deposit of$100
• Rental fee to follow current Lions Park and Outdoor Facility Use Fee policies
• Event will need to operate within regular park hours
• Group will pay cost of extra items such as portable toilets, trash pick up
• Group will coordinate with Parks and Recreation staff regarding logistics of event set up and
scheduling in order to accommodate Parks and Recreation programs
• Parks and Recreation programs operating during event will have first priority for space allocation
• Parks and Recreation staff will have full access to Lions Park and Lions Park Center as needed
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
A collaboration of church groups has requested the use of Lions Park in order to host a Community
Vacation Bible School from July 14-18, 2014. They expect between 400-500 participants.
Areas at Lions Park that have been requested include:
• Lions Park Center
• Band Shell
• Shelters
• Open Space
This event was held for the first time in 2013 and had no major issues
