Hot Topic(s) of the Month
Staff continues the work of implementing our new parks and recreation computer system,
RecTrac. Currently staff are working on an upgrade to our league scheduling module. This
upgrade will further improve the ability to effectively manage leagues as well as provide
customers higher access to league information.

Subject: Activity Center Report
• 2014 Optional Membership program is in progress. To date 225 memberships have
been purchased.
• New yoga class was added to the fitness class offerings for 2014. Class is offered
twice a week and has an average of 10 participants per class.
• 41 people braved the cold weather to go on the January 28 Mystic trip. Due to long
waiting lists for this trip,more will be added in 2014.
• Monthly Healthy Living Program continued in January with a presentation on
Memory Loss.
• Chair massages by appointment have been added to the Activity Center monthly
schedule. Positive comments were received by those that participated.
• Indoor picklball has expanded in 2014 to include Monday mornings as well as
Wednesday and Friday mornings.

*The Activity Center was closed 2 days for Holidays in January.Record low temps accompanied by
widespread school closings on 4 days in January accounted for lower attendance at the Center.
