Hot Topic(s) of the Month
The summer 2014 Parks and Recreation Program Guide has been completed and is
scheduled to be mailed out to past program participants in early April. The guide will be
distributed to key locations throughout Elk River including City Hall,Library,Activity
Center, Lions Park Center,YMCA,Arena, and the downtown kiosk. A full complement of
recreation programs for all ages is now ready for registrations.

Subject: Activity Center Report
• Wills, Trusts and Probate presentation on March 18`h was filled with a waiting list.
Staff received many positive comments on this presentation.Due to popularity,
another presentation has been scheduled for June.
• Healthy Living presentation by Golden Living in Anoka on March 21s`. This session
featured fun activities to challenge the brain. Record attendance for this session.
• During March,4 trips were planned including a trip to the new DayTrippers Dinner
Theater in Bloomington. Trips continue to be very successful,with waiting lists.
• March Madness Fitness promotion is in progress.Prize drawings for those who
attend fitness classes will occur at the end of March.
• As snowbirds return, attendance at the Activity Center increases. Smear cards had a
record attendance of 32 on March 25. Extra tables and chairs had to be moved to
accommodate everyone.
• Plans for April 24 Members Only Spring Fling are in progress.
