Approve,by motion,the hiring of Jessica Noreen as part-time cablecaster effective May 12, 2014.
Background/Discussion
This hiring is to fill a recent vacancy. The city received three applications for this position and interviewed
each of the candidates. Each had strong qualifications for the position and we have chosen to
recommend Jessica Noreen.
Ms. Noreen has a degree in Mass Communication and Broadcasting from St. Cloud State University. She
has experience in broadcasting and production for live television including interviewing, equipment
operation, and editing. This position's primary responsibility is to prepare for and videotape city
meetings and will also do some occasional filming and production work.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position. Pay is defined each year in the Compensation Plan for Non-Organized
Employees. For 2014, the pay rate for this position is $13.26 per hour. It is anticipated that this rate will
increase by the approved Cost of Living Adjustments each year.
