Mayor to administer the Oath of Office to Sergeant David Windels
Background/Discussion
The promotion of Officer David Windels to Patrol Sergeant was approved by Council action on April 7,
2014.
It is a tradition in the Police Department that the Oath of Office be administered at an open Council
meeting as a means of publicly acknowledging promotions.The Oath of Office is a public statement of
commitment to support the Constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Minnesota;
and to uphold the laws and statutes of the State of Minnesota and the ordinances of the City of Elk River.
The chief of police will make a brief presentation about Sergeant Windels. He will invite the Mayor to
administer the police sergeant Oath of Office.
