Park and Recreation Commission Update
July proved to be another light agenda for the Park and Recreation Commission. At the July
meeting, Mark Mattice, Wright County Parks Administrator gave a presentation on Wright
County Park development.
The Commission reviewed three subdivisions for park dedication purposes. They also discussed
new rules and regulations regarding ATV and snowmobile use. A recommendation will be
forwarded to the City Council at the August meeting.
Michele Bergh presented information regarding the School District's new fee schedule and the
rental of facilities for recreation program. The new fees will have an adverse impact on
recreation programs. The Commission encouraged the City Council to express concern
regarding the fees to the School Board and to direct staff to work together on developing a
reciprocity agreement between City and School facilities.
The Commission also met with the landfill on the end use plan. A presentation regarding this
issue will be made to the City Council in September.
