Action Requested
Approve,by motion,the hiring of Adam Ahnstad as recreation intern effective May 20, 2014.
Background/Discussion
With the 2014 budget the City Council approved a recreation intern position. After recruitment and
interviews,we recommend Adam Almstad for this position.
Mr. Amistad is working toward a degree in Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services through the University
of Minnesota. He has a variety of recreation-related experience including managing concerts at Brooklyn
Center Junior and Senior High School, serving as a program assistant through the Adaptive Recreation
and Learning Exchange in Richfield, and working as race staff for the University of Minnesota Gopher
Adventure Race.
Mr. Ahnstad will be paid $9.50 per hour and will work through August of 2014.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
