Action Requested
Designate, by motion,a Councilmember to participate in the Wayfinding Master Plan process.
Background/Discussion
Staff held its first meeting with Visual Communications to determine the schedule and process for
completing the Wayfinding Master Plan.
Most of the work for this plan will be completed internally by staff and the consultant,but as part of this
process key community representatives are being asked to share input. Representatives from the Chamber
of Commerce,downtown businesses, Heritage Preservation Commission, and the school district will be
asked to participate. Ultimately,Visual Communications will provide their recommendation to the
Council and the public. This initial input process is not intended to be a task force or special committee.
Staff is requesting a Councilmember be part of this group. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,
June 3, 2014, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. There would be another meeting for public presentation of the
preliminary design in late July.
