Parks and Recreation Director Michael Hecker will introduce Kristofer Paulseth, our new Parks
Maintenance Worker.
Background/Discussion
Kristofer Paulseth began employment on May 6, 2014.
Mr. Paulseth holds a degree in biology/environmental studies and has a variety of work and volunteer
experience including working with Anoka County Parks, the MN Department of Natural Resources, and
MN Conservation Corps. He has also worked as a carpenter and spent time in Minnesota's northwoods
building trails and working on a forest-wide tree identification project.
The city went to market for this position in January and received 207 applications. The pool of applicants
was narrowed to 17 who were invited to interview, 15 of which accepted. We had a very impressive pool
of candidates and a second round of interviews was held with 7 of the candidates.
We are excited to have Kristofer in Elk River as a part of our Parks and Recreation Department
