Approve,by motion,the hiring of Jacquel Nissen to the position of Economic Development Intern
effective June 23, 2014.
Background/Discussion
An intern position is included in the 2014 Economic Development and Housing and Redevelopment
budgets. We went to market to fill this position and received five applications. After interviews with
three of the candidates,we would like to recommend Jacquel Nissen for the position.
Ms. Nissen is pursuing a business degree through St.Thomas University. She has education and a strong
interest in finance and economics and previous internship experience in marketing.
This temporary position is expected to last until the end of 2014. The pay rate is $12.00 per hour and Ms.
Nissen will work up to 40 hours per week.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
