Adopt,by motion, the resolution acknowledging tree donations from Midwest Landscapes.
Background/Discussion
Parks and Recreation staff was contacted by Midwest Landscapes in Otsego who offered to donate up to
20-trees at a value of$9,590.
Staff determined, based on the size and species, that the dog park and new playground area at Orono
Park would be a good location for the new trees. Staff had planned for to install trees at the dog park
since it was moved from Lion's Park.
The trees are large in diameter, 4 to 5.5 inches in size,in a variety of Maple,Honey Locust,Linden, and
Oak
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 465.03, resolutions acknowledging contributions must be adopted by a
four-fifths vote.
Adam Zopfi, President of Midwest Landscapes, will be at the meeting to be recognized for the donations.
Financial Impact
Midwest Landscapes donated up to 20 trees with a value of$9,950 to the City of Elk River. The trees
were spaded by Tri-co Tree Movers at a cost of$160 per tree for a total cost of$3,200. This will be paid
