SUBJECT: Special Meeting— March 2, 2002
Staff and the Chair of the Commission are calling a special meeting for Saturday,March 2,
2002, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Elk River Landfill. The primary agenda item for this
meeting will be to discuss with representatives of the landfill the use possibilities for the
landfill, once it has been closed. Waste Management,owners and operators of the Landfill
• are looking for direction from the City regarding our vision for this area. In other parts of
the country, closed landfills have served as recreational facilities.
