Action Requested
Approve,by motion, the promotion of Mark Thompson to the position of Street Superintendent
effective July 17, 2014.
Background/Discussion
Mark Thompson has been working as the Interim Street Superintendent since Phil Hals'retirement. We
recently filled the Lead Operator position in the division and workloads are now fully defined and
prioritized. Staff recommends removing the interim tag from Mr. Thompson's title and officially making
him the Street Superintendent.
The Street Superintendent position is in pay grade 13 and Mr. Thompson is currently being paid at a rate
that falls between step D and step E. Mr. Thompson will be eligible to move to step E on July 1, 2015.
Financial Impact
There will be no impact on the 2014 budget.
